Success in Japan
After the Second World War, a program to reduce malaria in Japan was very successful. The number of cases dropped from around 28,000 cases a year to under 100.


In the five years after the second world war, malaria was reduced from around 30,000 cases a year to under 100. The number of cases has remained low for the ensuing 50 years.
